Fake news, fake blip!
When I spotted this poster advertising the ‘How Much of This is Fiction’ exhibition at FACT www.fact.co.uk/projects/how-much-of-this-is-fiction.aspx I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get “economical with the actualité” and create a collage!
So, the photo of the poster was taken today and I’ve blended it with another photo from the ‘OUTing the Past’ event which I blipped about last Saturday. That picture is of novelist/poet/journalist/publisher/editor/performer Helen Sandler in character as Frances Power Cobbe (b.1822) an Irish feminist and political activist who, with her partner of 35 years, Mary Lloyd (b1819), blazed a trail for women’s rights and animal rights. You can find out a bit more about why Helen was channelling Frances if you look here… http://lgbthistorymonth.org.uk/the-oldest-new-woman-and-her-incorrigible-welsh-friend/
Today’s tune is something I think I’ve probably shared before but it’s always worth another listen (nice video too!) - it’s ‘Radical’ by Catie Curtis, from her appropriately named album ‘Truth From Lies’ www.youtube.com/watch?v=21GkPlzrzOk and it’s dedicated to the incumbent US administration. As offensive a bunch of dissemblers as it’s possible to imagine.
