All fixed
The worst part of fixing the ottoman was the cover. It was dreadfully stained with coffee/tea and general muck which may have been shoes or something.
Two goes through on a long 40 degree wash, after scrubbing with proper soap, second time also with copious amounts of 'Vanish' rubbed in and in the washing machine and it came out not bad. Hell to iron though, thank goodness for the new industrial strength steam iron Marlane bought.
Broken hinges weren't too easy either. First go with wood filler didn't do it so plugged them with round lolly sticks and filler, left overnight, drilled new holes in the sticks and it worked a treat.
Now working on a tall dining room dresser, watch this space!
