Joie de vivre
Having written yesterday about my miserable teenage job delivering newspapers around Worcester Park in the early hours of the morning, let me contrast that with Dan's first job, working in a music job. A keen and able musician, he spends his Saturdays tuning guitars and charming people into buying them, his success no doubt driven by a palpable desire to share the love rather than the objective of separating the customer from their money.
Here is he is coming out of work today, full of beans and tales of the people he met over the course of his day. The Minx and I collected him, having stopped at Tesco on the way to collect the ingredients for this evening's lasagne. It's a long process - making the tomato sauce, the white sauce, cooking the ragu, building and baking the lasagne - but, my God, it's worth it. I'll put the recipe up here sometime.
