Dunbar Castle

A very overcast day but we decided we had to go somewhere so after lunch we drove east and made for Dunbar. On the way we stopped at Hailes castle (see Blipfolio). It was brighter there and dry so we had a good look round the castle. We then headed for Dunbar and had a walk round the harbour. Dunbar Castle is at the harbour.The ruins date back to the 12th century, although there was a stronghold here in the 9th century.

The weather in dunbar was beautiful with blue skies and sun and as we drove home to the west it was raining so I think we made a good choice.
