Rules for dealing with the Brits!

This was issued, as 7 pages of foolscap, to GIs coming to Britain. It is (mostly) quite sensitively written, emphasising the toll 3 years of war had taken on the people and infrastructure.

" One of the things the English always had enough of in the past was soap. Now it is so scarce that girls working in the factories often cannot get the grease off their hands or out of their hair."

It included a little geography:

"The great wild moors of Yorkshire in the north and Devon in the southwest will remind you of the Badlands of Dakota and Montana."
