Oval Platter....

This is the platter that came out of the kiln the other day....the second one i've tried with the new glaze combinations....i'm lovin' it!!! Even altho i understand that there is always going to be differences i was expecting it to look much more like the first one...and it does in some ways. Now i'm trying to figure out how to achieve certain aspects that appear on the first one that aren't evident in this one! Still, i'm pretty happy!

It's been a nice and laid back day.....pootling about! did some tests and reading about soft pastel paintings! i just love the buttery softness of the new pastels i bought yesterday! compared to the very cheap one's i got a few weeks ago....i understand why they were cheap!!!

There is such an abundance of basil in the garden and i've been working away every few days, making a batch or 2 of pesto....did some this afternoon. the kitchen smells totally divine!
