Fleas

Firing.... is an old Udens spring festival traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday after Carnival on Bedafse Mountains. The origin of the festival is probably before pre-Christian times and in the tradition of ancient spring festivals. The straw bedding containing the pest was burned at the end of winter, and the fire chased the evil winter spirits... The theme of this years Fire is "Burning Love" you can write your wish on the wish sticks and hang them in the wish tree at Gasterij Pier on Bedaf. During Fleas Fire the tree is burned with the wish sticks in the traditional spring fire. It was fun to read all the lovely, funny and silly wishes in the tree... Burning Love
