Bye Bye Baby, Baby, Bye Bye....
She looks contented.
We moved her Duvets, her pictures and as much of her mess as we could.
We filled the cupboards, and made up her bed, and decorated the walls and boards.
Leaving your Baby is hard to do, but it is lessened when she is smiling this this.
It eases even more so, when she texts you and says she is queuing for tickets for tonight's Freshers' Event.
It gets better when she then texts and tells you that there were no tickets left her for her and her new friends, but that her old friend from home, was further up the queue and bought her one.
Any worries completely disappear when you find out she is now cooking dinner in the kitchen with 3 of her flatmates, and they were all eating together.
Her brother called to find out if she went okay... (there was always a chance she would change her mind!), and he skyped her and sung her a song! A new song all the way from North Carolina to Edinburgh, subject matter to sensitive for mother's ears, but I am advised that Tooli loved it.
So now we are home. The house is quiet. Her mess is still here, and the scent of her perfume still flits past my nose. But she's here, in my laptop, beside her brother. How strange it is to have my babies so far apart, but so close at the same time.
