When I showed this photo to Mrs Raheny, she was utterly horrified.
She declared on the spot that this had to be the most disgusting thing she had seen in a while.

I did not bother telling her that when the kids and I found this beautiful specimen, the top part (and can't bring myself to call it the helmet - shite, I just did) was covered in flies.

I did not bother trying to describe the very distinctive smell either. Designed to attract flies. And immature forever-trapped-in-the-scatological-phase blippers.

The beauty of nature is sometimes wasted on the woman, who normally has impeccable taste (she married me).
