The Mushroom

Daughter K is down from Newcastle for the week-end. After a lovely lunch at the Hare and Hounds in Levens we went for a stroll along Scout Scar. Today's photo shows the shelter at the southern end known locally as The Mushroom. It was built in1912 as a memorial to King George V. The structure includes a toposcope indicating the fells and other landmarks.
