City of Liverpool FC 5 Chadderton 0
As Chester played last night I decided to go and watch another game this afternoon and chose a North West Counties Division 1 match between City of Liverpool and Chadderton. If the Premier League is level 1 of English football this division is at level 10 but there was still an impressive attendance of 353.
City of Liverpool are a new club that were formed as an alternative non-league option within the city boundaries. They play in purple to combine the red of Liverpool and blue of Everton and have supporters from both clubs. Before the end of the game, many people left to catch a coach outside the ground which was going to Anfield for the Liverpool v Arsenal game.
The club currently groundshare with Bootle but they want to move within the city boundary. My blip today features two Bootle fans and I like the picture because it nicely sums up football at this level. My extra is an action shot of the game itself with Chadderton, in red, on the attack.
There was a good atmosphere at the ground and the home supporters were in very good humour as they clearly enjoy watching a game at this level.
