Meet Gladys

Her formative years were spent being manhandled in an east coast fishing boat out of PE. After 25 years James rescued her and she is growing old gracefully in the bowels of Bolt Hole.

Despite the careful minstrations of Messrs Snapper & Co, she refused to bestir herself today. She is a Yanmar, started by turning a 20 inch flywheel.

I did solve the bread board problem, thus removing the side panel to locate the dipstick, and Mr Snapper repaired the oil pressure gauge. I also figured out how to check the fuel gauge, and we topped up the oil.

Apparently the next step is to bleed the fuel supply. I had not anticipated my life involving learning about a diesel engine!
