After work and some shopping, thought I'd take a wander over to see how the new River Ness bridge construction was doing. Was somewhat surprised to see the first of the (three) North bank's steel sections in mid air, especially as sunset was rapidly approaching. This lens wasn't anywhere near wide enough to capture it, so this is a (roughly) stitched couple of photos.
Extras:
- Moved further on to take a sequence of shots looking down the river as it was very slowly moved into place. With the setting Sun the temperature plummeted, and more layers were required for the cycle home.
- Three horizontally taken shots stitched together to show the huge crane as it was finally edging the section into place. View is down the line of the bridge.
It would be great to catch the first of the middle sections being dropped into place. But the chances are that I'll be at work when that happens. Just struck lucky this evening... apart from the darned cold cycle home.
