Project Linus
It is an 'Open Studio' weekend so Mrs madwill and myself have our work cut out - again. The weekend was advertised before the Harrogate show was booked for last weekend, so we have had to open up.
Mrs madwill decided to also open the studio to quilters to come along and spend some time making quilts for Project Linus, as well as for customers to buy supplies. A group of six ladies came along and started some quilts, using fabric donated by one of our suppliers...the fabric is samples of discontinued ranges, but perfectly usable. I spent a large part of the day separating the fabric from the display holders.
Project Linus (named after the Peanuts cartoon character that always tugs around a comfort blanket) is a charity that collects new quilts and knitted blankets from volunteers and distributes them to sick and traumatised babies, children and teenagers.
In a few hours these talented ladies have created some beautiful quilt tops, ready to be layered and quilted.
The photo is just one of them. I am sure they will make some children very happy.
