Walking on the moon

Finally a sunny day! I went for a walk in Kirkkonummi, 30 km West from Helsinki.

This is what happens to old roads when the ground freezes over and over again. The melting ground is moving every spring causing these holes. Nowadays they`ve figured out how to minimize the damages but this road is an old one, from 19th century. For some reason, in Finnish the holes are called nimismiehen kiharat which can be translated curls of a rural police chief .
