......the Southern Prom, Whitley Bay is looking a bit of a mess, the local council did some emergency repairs to the basic sea defences a couple of years ago when there was a lot of storm damage but sadly not a jot since.....such a shame, we spent many a happy hour down there in long-ago summers when there was a paddling pool and a play park for the kids and a kiosk selling all the usual seaside impedimenta alongside tea and snacks.....ah, happy days.......
