Head of the Valley
Low Fell is well-named. It's a relatively low fell and easy to climb to the summit. But the view that awaits certainly packs a punch. I am bewitched every time, and every photograph is different. Today the weather was brooding - and dramatic. The big mountain just right of centre is Great Gable with the grey rounded outline of Haystacks below. It's just possible to see the southern end of Buttermere where it flows into Crummock Water.
