Three men in a Boat
Hats off to these three men from the Teddington RNLI who rescued a paddler this afternoon. The poor man had been blown off course and ended up snarled in the Weir. I happened to be further down the river photographing grebes when I heard the siren and saw the RNLI boat go whizzing by. Unfortunately I was not quick enough to see the rescue, but saw the retrieval of he canoe and paddle. The paddler was unharmed, but was suffering from hypothermia. Accidents of this nature happen so quickly and the crew of the Lifeboats do a marvellous job, quite often endangering their own lives for the safety of others.
More photos of the recovery here.
My Great Crested Grebe and Robin are in my extra photos.
