Welcome to Madaba

We spent a wonderful first day with geology and mostly touristic highlights, Mount Nebo from where Moses saw the Promised Land, famous for the early Christian mosaics on the site of a church, wonderfully preserved by Franciscan monks. Later we saw the mosaic of the Holy Land done in the 5th century and rediscovered in the late 19th century. Then we walked round in the old town of Madaba with all the small shops and places - wonderful atmosphere!
