Farm Friends

We went to a local farms' U-Pick & the boys loved these two little guys. The black one is Shortie and the tan one is Peanut. The owner told us the funniest story about Shortie. I guess she's the 'lady' of the farm and has taken to mothering a number of baby animals. She took a baby goat that was born while they were away to the barn before the mother got a chance to even clean it. They found her in the barn having cleaned the kid and trying to nurse it. They accepted a few little kittens that were really little and Shortie took them on to be her own - even started to lactate. The really interesting thing is that she has never had pups of her own. So, she has a pretty intense mothering instinct!
