Nether Largie South Standing Stones

(with the cup and ring marks)

8.6C with a sunny morning and cloudier afternoon. Showers late afternoon. Light WSW/W breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound slept through until the alarm clock ... again !

Apothecary7's day off.

We decided to have a drive up the coast road and go on to Kilmartin to have a run in the new car. Apothecary7 was driving. We parked at the car park near the Nether Largie South standing stones and took Maeve the Deerhound for a walk across by the stones to Temple Wood, then up the glen path to the Glebe cairn at the North end.  We made our way across the little field where the cairn is and up to the Kilmartin Museum (and cafe) where we sat outside and had some soup for lunch. Then we came back again via Lady Glassary Wood. We walked slowly and Maeve got slower on the way back to the car but she managed very well.

On the way back South (I was driving) we stopped at Glenbarr for coffee/tea and goodies.

At 4.30pm we took Maeve for her first visit to the vets here in Campbeltown. We had a chat with the vet and he examined Maeve. Old age and an arthritic hips. No surprises. We got some Metacam and I will take her back in two weeks and have a chat so we can assess if it helps. We are pretty sure it will ease the situation which is what we hope. Other than that keep exercising and visiting beaches which seems like as good a prescription as any for all of us !
