All cleared away

A few hours ago our table bore the remains of our lunch but now all is cleared away. We really enjoyed entertaining M & C, a couple with whom we used regularly to lunch with at local pubs and lunch venues. C has had an operation and has had limited mobility so we haven't seen much of them in the last few months. Now she feels able to visit.
N made a lovely seafood selection for a starter, I made a chicken dish for the main, and I made a pear tart and chocolate mousse to end. I am pleased to say that after yesterday's worries the mousse was fine. After the meal we sat round the fire and put the world to rights.
Our guests went home happy and I must say we both enjoyed the day too! We should entertain more often, even though it involves a lot of work.
