Gallows Knowe
A short day at work, then enjoyed the walk down to the station to catch the bus home. A few minutes to spare before the bus was due to leave, so nipped in to Coronation Park, next to the station, for a quick blip of the River Tweed. In the bottom right-hand corner of the shot is the post marking the site of Gallows Knowe, where public hangings used to take place in Berwick. Grace Griffin was the last person to be hanged there, in 1823 - she was accused of murdering her husband, a known drunk and wife beater.
Appointment with the Physio this afternoon. The walking and twice daily exercises are paying off - she was amazed pleased at how much my range of movement has improved in a relatively short space of time. Need to keep on with the exercises and slowly build up stamina - she obviously has me taped, and stressed the importance of a paced recovery and not overdoing it. All good, but she warned that I'll almost certainly experience pain and discomfort in unexpected places for the next few months. Apparently, it's "early days" yet!
A walk on the Common late in the afternoon. Spent a while watching a young deer (extra) grazing by the path. It was aware of us, but didn't seem bothered.
