First Macro

Help please.  I tried my 100m macro for the first time this morning.  I did not realise how challenging macro photography is.  I shot in manual and alternated between manual and auto focus without noticing any difference. The strong breeze did not do me any favours.
I have also included a subject which was not affected by the breeze.
Any tips will be received gratefully.  Thanks.
