This week I have mostly been reading BATTLE

Fourteen years ago I wrote a quartet of articles telling the story of an iconic British war comic known as Battle. It featured numerous beloved strips like Johnny Red, Major Eazy, Darkie's Mob, Rat Pack, D-Day Dawson and the rightly acclaimed Charley's War, by Pat Mills & Joe Colquhoun.

As preparation for publishing my articles as an ebook entitled Blazing Battle Action, I dug some back issues of the anthology comic to remind myself why it was such a cracker. Hmm, the smell of crumbling newsprint!
