Mini rain forrest

Sphagnum moss and lichen. For such a wet day I thought this was suitable.
Sphagnum is one of the main builders of peat, and peat works as a very efficient carbon sink and carbon sequestrator.
The extra gives an idea of where it grows, this is the Flossy Loch at the back of the hill from my house.
The peat hag in the foreground is about 0.5m high, with around another 1.5m underneath. In Shetland peat accumulates at around 1mm a year so 2m peat represents a minimum of 2000 years.
