Cormorant on lookout duty

This Cormorant was sat on the edge of an old rusty Narrow boat hulk.
  The hull of the Narrow Boat hull had obviously been purchased with the intention fitting it out.But I think it must have got caught up in one of the recent floods? And has been partly filled with mud and water?
  Makes a good perch for the wildlife though?
All the other cormorants in the area are all black! But this one has some rather peculiar white tufts and a crest! 

  Anyone any ideas?
