Chirpy Chirpy SHUT UP

Smoke alarms. I know they're important. But why are they designed to beep every minute when the backup battery is low? Even when I've removed the battery?! Must have a backup to the backup battery, just so it can beep when the battery is dead. Genius. No spare battery in the house so 40 minutes of beeping...

Unfortunately the smoke alarm beep is, for some reason, the thing that Jasper is most terrified of in the whole world. He went missing for a bit and I found him cowering in a dark corner of the garden :-/
