Some people keep hens in their backyard ...

We seem to have pheasants and there were three of these magnificent males in the garden this morning.  They come to clear up the seeds that the smaller birds drop from the feeders and the cheekier among them, which at the moment includes at least one female come and beg to be fed whenever they see one of us in the garden.

I'm still backing up files and folders bit by bit.  Merv came for a chat and cup of tea and then went off to sweep his own chimney.  I managed to write up a few notes for the camera club about the YPU AGM and then settled to a bit of gardening in the afternoon - some weeding and earth loosening where all the `pesky' pheasants had trampled their big feet and compressed the soil.  ( took the bird feeder away from here a few weeks ago.)  Despite all the rain,  the garden borders on the edge of the stone wall, drain very well so it wasn't a very sticky job.
