Hollybank No 3 - Chasewater Railway
I'd hoped to be away walking this weekend, but have had to put this off for another week.
We did have a short walk around Chasewater this morning and had the added bonus of the enthusiasts railway which goes round most of the reservoir putting on steam.
The carriages are being pulled by engine Hollybank No 3, in National Coal Board livery. This engine has particular resonance to us as our old home was built on the former Hollybank Colliery in Essington.
Mrs GC remarked when she saw the image that it looked like a painting, reminiscent of the style often seen on railway prints.
They are having a Gala Weekend next week (see link). Just a thought for local Blippers but is anyone interested in a get together on Sunday?
