I went to a Stranglers gig last night with friend and colleague G. He's a real fan - it was his 177th time and my first. I thought that they would be good, but they were even better than I had imagined. I think I had forgotten the energy and brilliant baselines in their music. I feel that I should get my bass out and get practising
