Walk from Castle Carrock
Alistair led a 12 mile walk from Castle Carrock today. We had fine, sunny weather and the views over to the Lake District in the west were wonderful. It was too hazy to photograph, but we could see snow on the tops over there.
There was quite a lot of mud...............
25 of us went out today. A new walker has just moved into the area. It was her first time with a walking group, because she usually does long walks solo and makes wild camps on her route. Fascinating.
I also learned that one of our group is a naturist. You can know people for a long time and not know much about their lives outside walking.
We walked through a churchyard with some wonderful old gravestones. I wonder what the eye at the top right (as you look at it) means. Looks like someone who was bookish to say the least.
I'm going to finish mounting my prints for tomorrow's class, once I've heard the Archers.
