At The Top
We've been out for 14.5 hours today and have covered some miles and used the local trams and metro to get around.
Our first stop was the Burj Khalifa where we had tickets to go to the 125th floor. Luckily it was another sunny day, so we had great views. Then we spent a couple of hours in the Dubai Mall which is the biggest mall in the world, you could easily spend a whole day in there!
This afternoon we met up with Gadget Kid and G who drove us to Old Dubai on the other side of the creek. We had a wander around the spice souk and the gold souk before taking an abra (boat) ride on the creek.
From there they took us to a Lebanese restaurant in Karama, where we had a feast. Then we went back to the Burj Khalifa to watch the Dubai Fountains, and it was nice to see the Burj illuminated with twinkly lights.
Alan and I had tickets to Garden Glow so GK & G dropped us off there, giving us a slight detour to see the Sheik's palace.
We've had a really lovely day, and it was great to meet up with GK & G - thank you again for showing us around and for dinner. We look forward to returning the favour in Brighton!
Anyway it's 00.30 here and I'm off to bed. I've added a selection of photos from today in my extras if you're interested.
See you tomorrow!
