Snow on Skiddaw
Today was a day of contrasts; warm and sunny in the valleys, arctic on the high tops. The fierce winds on Skiddaw had not abated, as forecast, by the time I reached the summit, so taking this photo was a challenge. The wind chill was considerable and I was looking forward to a cuppa behind the large wind-break near the trig point. A large pile of snow put paid to that idea! Temperature aside, it was a fantastic outing, and the clouds over the north-western fells made for some dramatic lighting.
