Preening.....

A juvenile Goldfinch sitting high in the neighbours vanilla tree preening in the morning light. He looks annoyed, I'm guessing he must've missed a spot!

An introduced species which is widespread throughout New Zealand, especially round farmland, forest borders and suburbs. A family of four were flitting round the vanilla tree, preening in sunlight and feasting on seeds.

A crisp start to our morning with a chilly 4C and a very heavy dew however, it's been a lovely day, light breeze and a clear blue sky.

I'm not sure where this week is going, seems to be flying-by!
