Recovering Turtle

This is one of the many turtles at the Loggerhead Marine Life Center in Juno Beach, FL. Most of the turtles were found injured (usually by a boat) or sucked into the intake at a local power plant. Some have had surgery to repair broken bones, carapaces, or skull. Some have pneumonia or intestinal obstructions. The staff and volunteers here do a wonderful job of taking care of these turtles. We had a great visit with the turtles and followed the Nature Trail to a neat playground. Combined with the perfect weather, it was a nice day.
