Cleaning an old british 303 rifle

I reckon it has been neglected not abused but these are the cleaning patches. The clean ones are the end of that day's cleaning and then squirt in another dose a magic foam and hey presto! Next day they are dirty again as the foam cleans off the gunk of ages. Rinse and repeat (5 courses so far). I am sure British squaddies cleaned their rifles regularly, so I guess the is post-army civilian copper and nitro fouling.
