A Lake of Diamonds

Dear Diary,

Went to have lunch with my cousins and on the way home I stopped by the lake to see how it was breaking up.  I was treated to a wonderful sight.  Chunks of ice sparkled in the sun and looked like giant diamonds.  It was mesmerizing.  The wind was gusting which made the chill temperatures feel downright frigid but I didn't care, it was just so beautiful.  What we do for photography!

When the wind is high at this time of year the ice can do interesting things and I caught sight of a lone loon swimming in the distance.  It is so nice to see them arriving back.  In a few months people will be boating and swimming in the lake but today I was quite alone with this loveliness.
