Saltaire

Fascinating visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Salt Mills.   Sir Titus Salt built the mills to draw together his five mills working in the Bradford area in 1852.     It was build as a model village - with good housing and all the recreational activities - with a school, library, reading rooms, gymnasium etc.   Very similar to the vision of David Dale at New Lanark.

Extras:  By the canal.
Chimney stack at one of the mill buildings
              The boys with an octopus
