Amaryllis

Never had one before so we were rather interested to see how this one would perform. We did exactly as the instructions told us and for a while nothing much happened. Then we spotted a little green shoot starting. It wasn't long until we had two tall spikes and now there are eight huge flowers, four on each stem.
As it has been a bit of a grey, damp day, we took in a film this afternoon, the "Viceroy 's House" is a pretty fair representation, as far as I can tell, of the events surrounding Indian independence and the partition. I enjoyed it anyway.
