Scotland winter trip day 3

Here's a little Ptarmigan having a good look at us. Apparently these little guys are white in the winter and black in the summer, so this guy is in moult. Their main strategy for reserving energy is to move slow and not fly if they can help it. It's quite funny to see them waddling about!

Today we headed up Bynack More. Again the weather was amazing and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. We actually couldn't believe our luck! A slightly more technical ascent than yesterdays excursion, and even a walk along a gentle ridge scramble. Perfect:)
