Dirty Old Town it isn't!

Most people don't realise that the song "Dirty Old Town" (made famous by The Pogues but written by Ewan MacColl) was actually written about Salford.

John and I had a couple of hours to kill this morning after staying in Manchester following QPR's game yesterday so we headed out to Salford. One thing you can definitely say about it is that it is certainly not dirty. With its gleaming buildings, the Lowry Centre, the Imperial War Museum of the North and Media City, it's now a really vibrant place.
