Friday with Fiona
It was sunny today!! so we thought we’d have a small “field trip” after picking Fiona up from school today. to the Henry Gallery to see a colorful new exhibition. When we got to the door, it was closed due to some odd training going on the fact of which didn’t make it to the website. So…the back up plan was the UW library close by for an Artist’s books exhibition by Julie Chen—30 years worth (which of course I wanted to see ). About 90 seconds into it, Fi pronounced it “boring” so we didn’t spend a lot of time, but had a snack in the cafe. She said she’d rather go back to the Henry to see the photos by” that person who paints from his wheelchair.” (Chuck Close) Well, we have lots of opportunity to go back there. and it was a nice walk around the campus ...a little too early for the cherry blossoms tho, due to the cold weather...and back to the U bookstore where we parked (and of course had to buy a book) . My friend S had left some surprises for Fiona including beads and some small straw African dolls which were a big hit and got named and played with instantly. They are now hanging all over the kitchen cupboards. Pancakes for dinner., Somehow I only took a very few pictures today most of which were out of focus or just plain bad. So you get the entrance to the library to mark the day.
She talks constantly and she does wear us out! I need to go read in a quiet room.
Edit: I'm linking this earlier picture for the building --and I think it's interesting we were there with her sister to see another book art exhibit!
