Breakfast Tea
And as we are feasting on pies later, I went easy and had smashed avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toasted sourdough bread. Very nice it was too.
Returned from food shopping around 11:30 and I was knackered. That's what happens when you wake at 04:30 and fail to get back to sleep. There may well be snoring sounds in the theatre tonight, I apologise in advance cos if there is, it will be me.
Whilst catching up on the news at stupid o'clock, I read of the pending disaster that is facing countries like Nigeria, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen where it is estimated that 20 million people are on the brink of famine with an estimated 1.4 million children at imminent risk of death. How the *@!& does that happen in this day and age and why do we not hear more about it? Of course, the thing that all of these countries have in common is conflict with warring factions not only causing the issues but deliberately preventing aid from reaching those that need it. Yet another example of the few ruining the lives of many - history would be a much more valuable subject if it was used to learn lessons from the past.
