through the darkness
Morning disagreements led to a minor change in plan. It did get all sorted though. At least we are taking turns getting grumpy.
Went to a meeting organised by my MP Tommy Sheppard on Brexit and Scotland. The meeting was very well attended but I was probably one of the younger people there. Tommy Sheppard was joined by Simon Pia, a journalist and Nicola McEwan, a Professor of Politics. For my liking the meeting was to focused on IndyRef 2 which is probably unsurprising. There were some very interesting bits I took away: where there is a will there is a way. The expectation is that there will be some arrangement to accommodate the situation on the Island of Ireland to avoid the return of the Troubles (what a euphemism). There is no such will apparent for Scotland. Brexit was unleashed by a right wing fringe (and the right wing media), something Theresa May has trouble mediating. This is why an offer to secure the status of current European citizens hasn't been made as it doesn't fit the right wing narrative. We were told to watch what is going to happen in Ireland to get an idea of what is possible for Scotland.
I will support YES again when Indy Ref 2 comes around. I do hope it will be a more positive campaign than Brexit.
The bike is still good and I love zooming around town.
