Eve
After lugging about my two heaviest lenses for two consecutive days, I thought I should go back to basics today and carry a minimal SLR kit. We also didn't have anywhere more exciting to visit than a different supermarket for our weekly shop. And we wondered why it took so much effort to prise our kids from the sofa.
For some reason that I still can't quite work out, I sold my Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF-D a while back. I have recently replaced it with the spectacularly imaginative choice of the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF-S G, but have not really used it in anger until today. It is fun not carrying so much weight, and it may even excuse me from buying a small mirrorless camera for a while. Just as well Nikon don't seem that keen on releasing an FM-2 sized full-frame camera :)
This lady was promoting something to do with the Paralympics, by basically giving stuff away, including to our daughter. Unfortunately, being all of 8 years old, she's totally used to getting free stuff from relatives/near-relatives/strangers without showing any discernable signs of excitement. Thankfully, she agreed to pose with this lady wearing one of those freebies or I would have had to put her on a public-relations crash-course for cute kids. The promotion lady later asked me to email her a copy of the pictures I took, since they were probably better than anything taken so far. That was really kind of her to say.
