Gorse weevil
Mooching around on the roadside verge today I found two of these really very sweet Gorse weevils Exapion ulicis, a very tiny (2-3mm) weevil that feeds on Gorse by digging it's long snout into the soft tissue of the stem and spines creating characteristic round holes. The larvae which do even more damage develop in the seed pods.
It is fairly widespred in the UK, although probably often missed due to it's tiny size.
