First gig
Café/crèmerie Alexandre, Aberdeen/Alexandre corner, Sherbrooke, Qc.
The story begins with me looking for new ways of learning photography. After reflexion, I thought that offering my services to real clients with real needs could be a nice way to put myself into fast learning mode. Since I can't value my work or offer a 100% satisfaction guaranteed I would offer my services for free or for a trade or for whatever they think it's worth. Hence, those photos.
Two blocks away from work, a nice cafe&ice cream diner opened their doors last Spring. I then went to welcome them in the neighbourhood, meet the owner and try their food. Everything there is organic AND really tasty! A couple of days later, I went back to the café and told them I could take some shots for them if they wanted to advertise their place.
Last July, they asked me if I could take pictures of their menu, which I agreed to do. So here I am, embarked on another project. The client wanted to keep it simple. Although I had brought a lot of items to prep the scene, they wanted to keep it really simple. I think it turned out well.
I was so stressed though that after the 4 hours shooting I was just exhausted. I never thought photography could be that exhausting.
