A Travelling Day

The day started very early, as expected, but finished much later than predicted, thanks to some strange decisions on the part of Lufthansa.
This wasn't entirely a bad thing as we got to eat lunch and the duty free shop was giving generous free samples of an €80 Irish whisky. It tasted really good but not that much better than the €20 bottle.
When we eventually arrives at Venice airport it was a relief to see the Goalpine rep standing there and to find there was a bus to take us up to Arabba.
We arrived in Arabba, at about 10:30 in the evening. Snow was steadily falling. We ate the  cold meal the hotel had saved for us and then settled into our room, unpacking everything and getting out the skiing clothes for tomorrow.
