Big Owl

We decided to take another drive around the winelands to see a few other things. Our first stop was Spier wine estate. They have a birds of prey centre on sight which was just about worth a look. As you can see, we held an owl, which was nice.

After this, we went to the Van Ryns brandy estate but we walked in on them filming an advert. They guy in charge very kindly gave promised a complimentary tour and tasting if we came back later in the week though.

We then drove to Stellenbosch to check the town out properly. We went to the village museum that consists of four houses, from various periods of South African history, the oldest being the (one of the?) first houses in South Africa.
